Tinker is a 2 year old female Pit bull mix who has been at the shelter now for nearly a month. The police had to pay a visit to her home in order to a wellness check on her owner, and upon checking, it turned out that her owner had been deceased in the home for nearly a week.
Due to the fact that no next of kin could take her under their wing, unfortunately, she had to go to the shelter. Her behavior at the shelter has been nervous and shaky; even her kennel card says “nervous.” The staff say she is scared and trembling, and also easily startled, and have been trying to work with her. There is hope on the horizon, however, as it seems like other dogs help her come out of her shell (and she has even been spotted playing with other dogs!)
Rocky is able to bring Tinker slowly away from the door, trying to find a way out, onto in his lap with treats, patience, and loving affirmations. Tinker is available to adopt at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services shelter (San Jacinto location).
