Tanzy is a 7 year old female Pit bull mix that initially caught the eyes of Rocky at the shelter due to her less than confident nature and her drawn back attitude as if she wanted to disappear. As it turns out, there’s plenty to her story than meets the eye.
Tanzy was initially turned into the shelter back in early spring of this year unfortunately due to some hardships of her previous owner, who had her since she was a pup, along with her other Pit bull brother and potbelly big sibling. Tanzy was at the shelter for a few weeks before getting adopted to a new forever home – or so she thought. On the day the shelter was closed, camera outside the nightdrop of the shelter captured as a man brought Tanzy to nightdrop, decided not to call the number to turn her in properly, and instead tied her to the bench before quickly leaving without so much as a goodbye, as Tanzy tried to follow him. She was then found by animal care staff at the shelter about two hours later and brought safely inside.
Later it’s found that Tanzy has two microchips, one leading to the newest owner, and one leading to the old owner previously. The shelter attempted to contact the newest owner to no avail in any way they could so far, and the old owner was distraught at the news that Tanzy was back at the shelter. Tanzy also has a soft fatty growth on the side of her neck, and it is unknown what this is at this time; it may be benign and able to remove safely as it doesn’t seem to be bothering her at this time, and Rocky decides he’d like to help pay the fees associated with removal and treatment for Tanzy. However until the new current owner officially releases Tanzy through proper means, removing the growth will need to wait until her 10 day waiting period is up.
