Sylvie is a 1 and a half year old female Dachshund mix who was left outside of Animal Friends of the Valleys’ night drop very early in the morning; this means they left her in a kennel without calling the number on the outside of night drop in order to place her in a secure locked space with water and blankets. They left notes behind saying that she was rescued from a neglectful family by them, however she was not doing well with their own dogs at home which is why she needed to be taken to the shelter.
A few hours later before shelter staff arrived, some passersby were sympathetic towards Sylvie and wanted to give her love, but opened the kennel which unfortunately led to Sylvie running off in fear. A bit later, Animal Control had finally caught her and brought her into the shelter. When later health checked, it was discovered that she had vaccine records dating back to 2022, but nothing further they could see, which meant they needed to give her vaccines again. They also found that she was already spayed.
Sylvie is apprehensive and nervous, slow to trust others. However with patience and time, allowing her to adjust, Sylvie shows her sweet nature and how she can learn to love again. Rocky shows in his time with her that she can learn to trust people again and even appears to relax in his arms and takes treats. Sylvie is at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA. Her ID is #729200. ***Please note that Animal Friends of the Valleys is unable to transport animals. Adoptions are first come, first serve. Pets must be visited with in person prior to an adoption. Rocky Kanaka is not responsible for adoption processes and interested parties must go through the shelter for more details on adopting.***
