Hi there, I’m Suzie! At seven years young, I’m a petite terrier mix weighing in at about 8 pounds. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for the love and care I’ve received since joining ICARE. You might have heard my story—from Rocky Kanaka’s social media channels; I was found roaming the streets in a terrible state, with a fractured leg and fur so matted that spiders had made themselves at home in it.
Thankfully, I received immediate grooming to relieve the pain. Despite the challenges, life has vastly improved for me. I’ve undergone dental surgery (16 teeth removed!), been spayed, and had my right rear leg amputated. I’m a survivor, and I’m loving every moment of my newfound freedom. I adore going on walks and am learning to chase a ball—a new adventure for me! But what I love most is snuggling and cuddling with my person. Personal space? Who needs it, anyway?
I may bark when meeting new people, but I quickly calm down once I feel comfortable. You’ll find that I’m quiet and well-behaved indoors. While I prefer to be the only fur baby in the household, I can coexist with small male dogs. What I’m truly seeking is someone who will love me unconditionally and help me continue to learn how to just be a dog.
