Skye is a 8-9 month old All American Girl. We think she’s predominantly Australian Kelpie with a bit of Australian Cattle Dog thrown in along with either an Australian Shepherd or Husky or some blue eyed breed. Those striking ice blue eyes in her dark face are mesmerizing.
Skye is a found dog so we don’t know much about her before she came to rescue. She either got lost from her family or was dumped in the ranches west of Sacramento where she fended for herself until a good Samaritan caught her and took her to the local shelter. They got her weight back up and made sure she was healthy. We know she had a former owner who spent time with her because she has solid training. She crates well, loves to ride in the car, has basic skills like sit, down, come, etc. and is great with dogs and people. She’s now a sleek mahogany color, happy, healthy and eager to find her new home.
When people meet Skye, they fall in love with her silly sense of humor, eagerness to please and joie de vivre. She’s active but isn’t hyper…prefering to hang with you instead of run and chase squirrels. She’s quite content to nap at your feet when you’re on the computer or watching TV. She’s a “people” dog. She’d make a great hiking buddy, runner’s companion or family pet. She’s fostered near Sacramento in the foothills and ready for her next home.
