FINAL PUPDATE: Sissy has been happily ADOPTED! She lives with new dog siblings and wonderful pet parents now in New Mexico, and has never been happier. Congratulations, Sissy! See below for the full pupdate.

UPDATE: Since Sissy is blind and deaf, I knew we would really have to rally behind her. Luckily, Lovebugs Rescue stepped up to the plate! This super sweet gal is getting cozy in a foster home while awaiting her forever home. If you remember, Lovebugs Rescue is the group that pulled Valerie, the emaciated pittie (RIP 😢) which is just so awesome that they continue to show up for the dogs who need them most. Cheers Sissy, this is the start of your next chapter, I’m so glad our community could be a small part of it 🐶❤️

Sister is a 3-year-old female Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the shelter because she was found running around by Animal Control. It turns out not only was this not her first time at the shelter, as she’d been there just a month earlier, but she’s also blind and deaf, meaning it was incredibly dangerous for her to be left running around on the streets.

Some staff say she was adopted, then when she went to the clinic to get spayed, the new owner never picked her up post surgery from the clinic. Others say her owner is the one who has not come back for her the second time now she’s been at the shelter. Either way, Sister is at the shelter and still in holding for a few days before she’s adoption available, and Rocky sits with her to ensure she can find a new home if she isn’t returned to her owner. Sister, or as Rocky likes to call her, ‘Sissy,’ is a sweet gal who wants to be close with her humans as without her sight or hearing, relies on your guidance to feel peace, and in return she gives lots of love and kisses.
