UPDATE: A big win – Silvia was ADOPTED after spending a year at the shelter!
Silvia, named by her old owners, is a 2 1/2 year old female Pit mix. She had been at San Diego Humane Oceanside for nearly a year at the point Rocky learned about her while sitting with her roommate Bagel. She was potentially picked up from Tijuana by folks who took it upon themselves to try to save dogs; although their hearts were in a good place, they unfortunately bit off more than they could chew and realized they couldn’t take care of her, and brought her into the shelter. Silvia appears to be unsocialized, and at this point, nearly half her life has been in a shelter. She was around lots of other dogs in the home, and tends to do better with 4-legged friends than 2-legged ones, so she has been paired over and over again with shelter pups to help keep her company. However, each and every one so far has been adopted before her, and it’s overdue for Silvia’s turn at becoming part of a forever family.
