Sweet, shy Shelly was rescued from a high-kill shelter after being brought in as a stray. Unfortunately, not much is known about her background. When we first got Shelly, she was EXTREMELY shy and scared. She would not walk on leash and any sounds she heard outside terrified her.
She appears to have been previously abused as she was scared of most movements, changes in tone, and was even scared to use the bathroom. Her loving foster has taken her in and shown her all of the love she’s deserved this entire time and she is slowly opening up! While she is still very scared/nervous around new people, she has shown exactly how loving she’ll be in a forever home. She adores her foster and has become extremely playful and affectionate.
She also LOVES other dogs! Any potential adopters will need to understand that Shelly will be scared when first meeting them; if they commit to her and show her that she’s safe and loved, she will return that love tenfold.
