Meet Sol — a stunning Cane Corso mix whose name means “Sun.” Though she’s still adjusting to the shelter environment, you can already see the light within her beginning to glow. Sol arrived at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA as a stray on May 27, 2025. She is approximately 3 years and 6 months old, not yet spayed, and estimated to weigh around 60 lbs.
With her brindle coat and deep, soulful brown eyes, Sol is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside.
🐾 Gentle, Shy, and Full of Heart
Shelter volunteers describe Sol as shy but incredibly sweet. While she’s still nervous about her surroundings, she waits patiently to be collared and walks politely on a leash. Loud noises and unfamiliar areas make her uneasy, so her dog walker meets her where she’s comfortable and lets Sol set the pace.
Despite her initial hesitation, Sol is affectionate and gentle, often giving the softest hugs to those she trusts. She’s also very housebroken and responds to basic cues like “sit.”
🏡 Waiting for Her Safe Place in the Sun
What Sol needs most is a calm, loving home where she can bloom at her own pace. Once she settles in, there’s no doubt she’ll become a deeply loyal and devoted companion. Her quiet strength, sensitive nature, and desire to connect make her a truly special soul.
