Hi there! My name is Selkie. Foster mom said that I kind of remind her of the seals at the zoo. I am a 4 year old lab/hound mix. I am a big girl weighing in at 75 pounds. I am the sweetest girl. I love everyone I meet. I have done great with kids at adoption events. When we are on walks and I see someone I would like to go say hi. I am living with 2 smaller dogs and doing well. I can be a little dog selective. I tend to prefer more submissive dogs. With proper introductions I settle in well.
I do need a home with no cats or small animals. I am a good girl in the house. I am potty trained, you just have to watch and make sure I do my business outside. I am left free in the house when my foster parents are at work. I sometimes get bored when left alone and may chew things, but usually it is dog toys. I will sometimes grab my foster mom’s shoe and move it, but have not chewed on it. Foster mom has been leaving treat toys to entertain me and I am doing better. I am crated in the bedroom at night and sleep through the night. I am great in the car. Foster mom said she sometimes forgets I am there, I am so quiet. I love going for walks. Overall my leash manners aren’t too bad. Occasionally I will see or smell something I want to get to and may pull a little too hard. Otherwise I walk nicely. I love to snuggle on the couch and watch TV.
Foster mom says I am a bit of a couch potato. Although I do get my spurts of energy. I can be a little demanding for attention. I may stare at you or even paw you. I just want to be loved. I also get a little jealous of other dogs getting love and will butt my way in for my fair share. Foster mom says I am just the bestest girl. I deserve the best family. I have been waiting awhile for one, but know they are out there. Is it you? If you would like to meet me, please call Annie at 815-685-0746. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: – microchip – spay/neuter – age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies – heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive – deworming
