Scratch is a 4 year old female who was found as a stray by someone out on the street around 2 months earlier. They brought Scratch in, and when staff evaluated her, they thought that she may have been extremely undersocialized in her life, leading to her nervous and fearful behavior. The staff even wrote on her white board that she’s fearful to let other staff know she requires a slow pace and patience. She was considered only for staff and behavior and training volunteers due to her behavior and needing more work. She is great with other dogs however and is learning to trust, learning about the world more day by day. She is not great on leash, however with time, she can absolutely learn, and there is hope here with Scratch’s future.
Out of sheer luck and timing, Rocky happened to be filming right when the team found out that she was getting adopted! Rocky got to meet and congratulate her on her adoption; after over 60 days in the shelter, Scratch was out the door to start a new life.
MINI PUPDATE 🐶 10/30/25
In the few days after her adoption, Ginny let us know she has renamed her to Kahlia, and said that she has been following her everywhere! Overall, she is settling in beautifully into her new home. We will check in with Ginny for the next pupdate in the near future!
