Sweet pittie Bahamian potcake mix seeks forever family willing to lose their hearts to this 3 year old girl whose number one goal in life is to fall asleep on your lap! Ruby had a tough beginning, neglected and chained in a small outdoor space with no protection or adequate food. She is now up to 50 pounds, and stands just 20 inches tall at the shoulders – a great size. Ruby rarely barks or growls. Instead, she is happy to see everyone and readily presents her tummy for rubs. Ruby loves to go for walks.
She easily accepted a leash and is now improving daily on her ability to walk next to her human handler. We are working on reducing Ruby’s outdoor anxiety (she is afraid of loud noises, heavy wind, and is easily startled, especially on walks after dark. Probably a remnant of her outdoor, unsheltered upbringing.) She has had positive interactions with at least two neighborhood dogs, showing a desire to play. Did I mention that Ruby loves the water? She swims in the ocean happily, sporting a hot pink lifejacket so that we can keep her on a long leash. A real water baby! Ruby loves stuffed toys and chews of all kinds, happily amusing herself and then falling asleep. Warning – she has the cutest snores!
