Rocky is a male pit mix needs forever home near Nashville, TN. He’s about 5 yo, 60 pounds. Extremely affectionate and loving to people and dogs. Rescuer Would love to keep him but already have 3 dogs. Please share to help him find a loving home.
From Rocky’s Rescuer: “Everyday I would pass this house where I would see this dog in a cage 24/7. He was in the cage during extreme heat and harsh winters as I live in Tennessee. I called animal control and because he had a wooden board above his head they said he had shelter and water and he was okay.
I couldn’t sleep at night knowing this dog never had exercise or love. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I went up to the owner two weeks ago and asked her if she needed anything for the dog. I told her I would buy her a dog bed, take the dogs on walks, hoping that eventually she would trust me and give me the dog. She agreed to a walk the following weekend. I called her the night before to make sure we were good to go and she told me she decided she wanted to surrender the dog to me. I was sobbing.
My husband and I took him for a walk and he was running so fast to smell all the new smells. He had never seen grass, he had never met another dog, everything was new. He had been sleeping in his deification so he smelled so bad so we immediately took him to get a bath and he was so happy. I thought after experiencing this kind of neglect he would be aggressive but he is so gentle and submissive.
He gets along with all of my dogs and the kids in the neighborhood. He is the kind of dog that follows you everywhere, even to the bathroom! He loves walks, loves playing and just wants to sit in your lap and kiss you. He isnt neutered yet but I am happy to do that if it will help get him adopted. I live in Tennessee but will be moving back to la in May. I can take the dog back with me if there is a match. “
