UPDATE: Rippy has been happily adopted by new parents who have renamed her Lady. Let’s go Lady! See below for the full pupdate.
Rippy is a 2-year-old German Shepherd female who was sadly found roaming alone on a busy road nearby a local lakeside. Rippy was nicknamed after Kelly’s childhood dog, who in turn was named after her great uncle’s hometown of Ripon, Wisconsin. Without a collar, microchip, or leash, unfortunately there’s no easy way to reach out to an owner, if any. She is frozen, shut down, and has definitely been through it. Rippy even has a sign outside her kennel that says she’s scared and still getting used to her surroundings. Rocky surprisingly finds out she may actually know Spanish more than English when he asks passerby to try and speak Spanish instead to her, and her ears/eyes perk up.
When Mel the shelter groomer tried to take her to get a bath, she was very hesitant and clearly not leash trained. However, Rippy is a sweet girl that just needs time and patience with a family that is willing to understand her. ***Great news! This dog is part of our Empty the Shelters event from July 18-24th, 2024. If not adopted locally, Rocky’s team can help with transport to a new home. Interested in adopting but can’t visit in person? No problem! Just fill out the adoption application below, and we’ll work together to find the perfect match. Let’s give this pup the loving family they deserve!***
