Look at that face! How can anyone resist? Poor guy has been waiting for so long. Rex is an energetic Australian cattle dog (blue heeler)/border collie mix who is around 2 years old and weighs about 40lbs. Feisty and playful, this silly boy just loves people.
Poor Rex came to us from a neglectful puppy mill situation, and is still catching up on some of his basic manners which he was never taught in his old life. This sweet guy has come a really long way! He has been with us for many months now, with very little interest. Rex is very smart, in fact he’s so smart that he will walk all over you if you let him. This spunky fellow is going to need a firm but patient handler, and once he respects you he is as loyal as they come. He is an enthusiastic boy who would thrive with a safe place to work off his energy, such as a secure yard to play in. He is going to need to be the only animal in the home, as he doesn’t care for either other dogs or cats.
Rex has watched time and again as the other animals get to go home, while he has to stay behind. He’s starting to feel pretty sad about that, but we all know there is the perfect home looking for a handsome, silly, and charming guy to be their new best friend.
