Remington, Remy for short, is a 9-month-old neutered, Boxer mix pup, living in Portland, Oregon. Remington was adopted in 2023 at 4½ months old, however, through no fault of his own, his current family is unable to keep him like they had hoped.
Remy has a full natural tail and is current on his vaccines. Remy is a very smart, high-energy pup with a feisty spirit. He would make a great outdoor companion on hiking trails, and an all-around great adventure buddy. He is able to settle pretty well at coffee shops and outdoor public areas. Remington is independent and strong-willed and may take some time to relax and trust when first getting to know his new humans. For this reason, he will need a strong, patient, and experienced leader who has the time to bond with him and train him. But once he knows you, he really opens up and will wag his tail and bring you shoes in between his distracted puppy antics.
Remy loves other dogs and is still learning how to play politely, but we feel that he would do well with another dog in his forever home provided that his new family can also get some good 1:1 time in with him. He is very food motivated, learns quickly, and knows some basic commands. Remy is working on his leash skills due to a tendency to pull, but we have confidence that he’ll master the needed skills in no time at all, especially when treats are involved. He is crate and potty trained and sleeps through the night. A home with no cats would be ideal for Remy as he likes to chase them.
Remy loves kids but we recommend kids who are dog-savvy since he is a puppy and still learning himself how to behave properly.
