UPDATE: All of the Terrier siblings have been ADOPTED into safe and loving homes thanks to their story being shared!
1-year-old Border Terrier mix Ramses, nicknamed by the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society staff, was found in a box on a corner of a street along with 4 other dogs named Akila, Chancho, Esqueletto, and Raven – 5 dogs total in a single box. He along with his siblings/friends were turned into the shelter as stray, found apparently by a family, however there is some suspicion the dogs may have belonged to them and are not stray. SGVHS staff had to wrap them in towels in order to vaccinate and health check them, as they came in fear aggressive. Out of the 5, Ramses is one of two most likely to bite at this time, and Rocky knows he needs to sit down with him to give him a fighting chance at a normal happy life.
Ramses was likely named to fit the movie theme for ‘Nacho Libre’ as two of his siblings are named Chancho and Esqueletto. Rocky also sits with his sibling nicknamed Akila to bring him comfort as well. Ramses will need a patient and loving family, likely without small children as he needs to be handled carefully; he is still learning how to be a dog, and becomes threatened quickly if not given enough time and space, as well as dedication. In time, Ramses will become a loyal companion. The 5 pups need more time to adjust right now, but will be available at San Gabriel Valley Humane Society soon.
