At nearly 14 years old, Poppy—a dainty, fluffy Cairn Terrier mix—found herself at the shelter on July 17, 2025, after being surrendered by her owner. While it’s unclear why she was given up, her former family left glowing notes about her sweet nature and good manners. She was a beloved house dog, fully housebroken, and comfortable being left home alone. Though she was a little shy at first, with time (and a fresh groom!) she’s now fluttering around the courtyard like a happy little butterfly, soaking up sunshine and attention.
