Oscar, nicknamed by the Rocky team, is a 2.5 year old male Pit bull mix who came into the shelter weighing in at just 33 lbs. The police were called around 10 pm on a random Monday night due to a Good Samaritan finding Oscar tethered to a tree, next to a restaurant and a duck pond. Animal Control was then reached to pick him up, bringing him in to Animal Friends of the Valleys right away. He was then health checked in the morning when veterinary assistant staff were in. Health check noted Oscar has moderate tartar on canines and molars, possibly due to poor nutrition, a filthy coat, healed scars on top of his head, long nails, muscle loss on his head due to his emaciated state, and no microchip or ID tag to contact a potential owner.
