Miss Molly is a 7-year old purebred Belgian Malinois. Until a few months ago, Molly had spent her entire existence bound to a cable in a yard and confined to a crate. A teenager in the home subjected her to physical abuse by beating her with a pole.
Thankfully, when Molly’s owners relocated, a compassionate neighbor intervened to rescue her. Shortly afterwards, it was discovered that Molly was pregnant. She delivered 8 healthy puppies in December. Unfortunately, Molly became very protective of her puppies and she had to be separated from them for safety reasons.
Miss Molly recently had a medical crisis where she was unable to keep down food, had dark colored vomit and diarrhea. She was taken to the vet and treated. However, Miss Molly continued to decline, she lost a significant amount of weight and was very weak. She underwent exploratory surgery and it was discovered that she had several large stomach ulcers that were causing her medical issues.
The ulcers have been repaired and Miss Molly is recovering nicely. She has now gained eighteen pounds, keeps her food down, and she is feeling so much better. Molly’s love language is food, a few tasty treats will win her heart. Miss Molly needs a special home, one that is quiet and calm, where she can continue to recover.
