Milo, nicknamed after a Rocky Kanaka member’s beloved passed dog, was found by a good samaritan near downtown in a local city in rough shape. When they called Animal Control to retrieve the dog, Milo was not acting nice, and it took ACO a minute to get Milo safely into their vehicle to take him to Animal Friends of the Valleys. Upon arrival, it was clear Milo needed time – he has not been officially health checked due to his behavior, and Rocky was even given a warning before attempting to interact with Milo as when a health check staff scanned him for a microchip, Milo attacked the scanner and attempted to bite health check staff’s hands.
Milo is unable (and uncomfortable) at this time to be moved during the initial time spent with Rocky out of the smaller kennel, however Rocky is determined to show his story and makes a special exception for Milo to stand with him instead. Upon closer inspection, it’s clear Milo may be lashing out due to painful burrs in his skin due to an unkempt coat. Touch is rough for Milo, however thanks to Mel and the team, he is able to be sedated partially in order to get a much needed grooming to stop the pain and get him feeling better immediately.
