Pea is a sweet 12-year-old Chihuahua with a tiny body and a huge heart. She came into rescue under heartbreaking circumstances—after her loving owner was moved into assisted living, Pea was left behind in a rural town with no shelter or rescue resources. Neighbors heartlessly suggested putting her down, but thankfully, a kind housekeeper reached out to NorthStar Pet Rescue. Without hesitation, they stepped in to save her.
Now safe in a loving foster home, Pea is showing everyone just how delightful a senior dog can be. She’s housetrained, quiet, and incredibly affectionate—an ultimate lap dog who gently nudges your hand for pets and attention. Her foster mom calls her a “Velcro dog” because she just wants to be near her person.
