UPDATE: Mary was ADOPTED! Her new name is Nikki and she is now living her best life with her new family. Let’s go Nikki!

Mary is a 5-year-old female all black German Shepherd mix who was found wandering alone near houses and a wedding venue by a good samaritan and brought into the shelter. With no collar, leash, microchip or owner known, Mary is on her own, and because she was found not spayed, signs point potentially to no owner. On top of her shut down attitude at the shelter, she is also all black, meaning she blends into the back of the kennel and has less of a chance of getting a new family.

Rocky nicknamed Mary considering she was found somewhat close to a wedding venue (‘marry’ = ‘Mary.’) Although she did not come around right away with Rocky when he sat with her, it’s clear she has a sweet interior, and simply does not feel safe just yet to show her true amazing colors.

Mary is at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA. Her ID is #733568. ***Great news! This dog is part of our Empty the Shelters event from July 18-24th, 2024. If not adopted locally, Rocky’s team can help with transport to a new home. Interested in adopting but can’t visit in person? No problem! Just fill out the adoption application below, and we’ll work together to find the perfect match. Let’s give this pup the loving family they deserve!***
