This male Shiba Inu is guessed to be around 2 ½ years old, and was found by County Animal Control with a microchip, meaning he is an owner known. Despite the microchip, an owner is not able to be contacted at this time as the microchip is unregistered, leaving a mystery as to who owns him.
An even bigger mystery surrounds an injury or lesion of some kind near the base of his tail that pains him, as Rocky notices he starts to cry when he wags his tail. Overall, his disposition is quiet, intelligent, and a bit standoffish at first, but then becomes affectionate by licking and climbing onto Rocky’s lap. Rocky later decides to nickname this boy “Makoto” after suggested by a long-time member, as it means ‘good’ or ‘loyal’ in Japanese where this breed originated from.
