Lola was one of our amazing mama dogs, but now it’s her turn to find a forever family of her own. Lola is a 1 year old, 100 lb Mastiff mix with the most adorable long ears and nub tail. She is friendly with new people she meets and will happily allow being pet and handled. She especially loves belly rubs, hugs and cuddles.

Lola also loves other dogs too, especially if they want to play. She’ll never pass up a good romp with another pooch! Lola is well mannered, walks well on leash and is great adventure partner on longer hikes which is truly her happy place (after cuddling). Lola is very connected to her people and is going to make a very loyal and loving companion. Another dog she can pal around with is not a must, but a plus.

Lola was an owner surrender to AFV (Animal Friends of the Valley) and it was felt there was a strong possibility she was pregnant. Sure enough several weeks later she had 9 puppies in the shelter. That is when we heard the plea from the shelter that she and the puppies needed a rescue quickly to keep them from getting sick. So that day we rescued Lola and her 9 puppies that were 1 day old, and she moved into her foster.

On the way out of the shelter we noticed 1 puppy had a cleft lip deformity and wasn’t thriving. We immediately rushed the puppy to the emergency vet and the foster learned how to tube feed a cleft baby, but sadly the baby was not thriving and passed the following day. It’s possibly other abnormalities and birth defects were present. Thankfully the other 8 were completely healthy and they have all grown and been adopted! It is now mommy Lola’s turn to find her forever home!
