These two Husky mixed puppies have a somewhat mysterious background. They are thought to be around only 3 months old, and upon first glance, seem completely normal. However upon closer inspection, it’s clear they cannot use their backlegs well, and are left crawling and dragging their legs on the floor. According to what we know about their story so far, apparently Sergeant Ponder was already on a call to return a missing dog to their owner in the area, and when returning the dog to the owner, the owner alerted the officer to these two puppies that their gardener left behind. It’s unclear whether this story is completely true, or if the gardener was unable to be contacted, however it’s obvious these pups have had a rough start in life.
One pup has light bright blue eyes with brown and cream fur, while the smaller lighter one has darker eyes. Without a clear owner, there are no names we are aware of, and it’s up to Rocky and the team to decide on names! The puppies were able to get in at a local vet the same day Rocky sits with them and it’s determined they likely have Swimmer’s Syndrome – which could potentially be caused by their mother having poor nutrition and overbreeding genetic anomalies. The pups will need time to regain muscle and strength in their back legs, meaning they will not be available for adoption for some time as they recover on Flip’s Farm.
