UPDATE 03.08.24 – Honey was ADOPTED thanks to everyone sharing her story, congratulations Honey!
Honey, previously known as Venom, is a 3-year-old female Shepherd mix that was found by a good samaritan and brought into the shelter. This is not the first time she’s been in the shelter – she had been found running around a year prior and brought into the shelter when her owner was on vacation. Now after a week of trying to contact the owner, when the shelter finally got ahold of them, they said she didn’t get along with the small dog in the home and escaped the yard. They finally relinquished ownership of Honey and now she is available. Rocky nicknames her ‘Honey’ after realizing her given name ‘Venom’ did not fit her.
Honey is guarded, but she has a lot of potential and just needs time with someone who will be patient with her. It is highly recommended that anyone who is interested in adopting Honey to do a meet and greet if they have a dog, especially if they are a small dog. Honey is available at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA. Her ID is #639897. ***Please note that Animal Friends of the Valleys is unable to transport animals. Adoptions are first come, first serve. Pets must be visited with in person prior to an adoption. Rocky Kanaka is not responsible for adoption processes and interested parties must go through the shelter for more details on adopting.***
