Dusty is a lovable playful kitten who had a rough start at life. No one knows how tiny Dusty ended up living under a house near downtown San Jose. Luckily, a young college student and a six-year-old boy both noticed this sweet kitten and independently began helping him! The college student checked the neighborhood for a missing family, and when none was found, made sure Dusty got to a clinic for vaccines and then reached out to rescues for help getting him into a foster home. While all of this was happening, the 6-year-old was bringing Dusty home and asked his family to keep Dusty inside at night so he would not be hurt (so sweet). Together, these neighbors kept this kitten safe until a loving foster home was found. Now with a foster, Dusty loves cuddles and scratches. He is affectionate and gentle, but when he is done with your attention he darts away. Lucky for Dusty, he will never have to worry about fending for himself ever again. With so many unwanted and unhoused pets in our community, the efforts of this one neighborhood demonstrate just what people can do for an animal in need.
