Drago is the shelters longest resident. He will be here 2 yrs on the 18th. We pulled this guy from a horrific hoarding situation with multiple other dogs, When we went out he was in a pen that was frozen in layers of ice , no where dry or warm to sleep with no food and frozen water. He was sacred to death standing on a broken dog house shaking and barking. He warmed up to our shelter manager and she was able to get him safely off the property.

Once at the shelter he warmed up quickly to staff and was shown to be a happy, friendly boy but he can be wary at first around strangers. . He was adopted but was returned because he loved his people too much and was severely guarding them. He would do best in a home with a homebody, in a low traffic area where it would mainly just be him and his people and would benefit from a trainer. He likes other low key dogs and cats can be hit or miss. He is 5 yrs old and aside from the staff here has never had a person to love and care for him. He has lived his whole life tied up outside and then in a shelter.

It is Gut wrenching to watch him sit in silence every day watching other dogs find homes while he waits. He is giving up and it shows. We understand he is not the easiest placement, he has behavioral needs that most people are not capable of taking on and we understand that but we keep hoping that there is that one person who would be able to grasp what Drago needs to succeed and is willing to give that to him. Please share our boy in the hopes that we reach that person. He is looking for foster, rescue or adoption.
