This small pup is a 5 month old male Dachshund mix named Cocoa who was discovered in the shelter’s section for brand new dogs, along with another dog named Wednesday. A reporting party called Animal Control because they kept hearing crying dogs in a person’s garage for two weeks and was beginning to grow very concerned. Animal control came to the property to ask the owner what was going on, and in doing so, ACO recognized too many dogs on the owner’s property. After counseling, the owner relinquished the dogs willingly and they are considered an owner turn – meaning Cocoa (and the other dog Wednesday) are officially available.

Cocoa is a very timid and nervous small dog – he even growls at Rocky at one point. It’s unclear what he may have exactly gone through before meeting Rocky, but there’s no doubt he needs love and patience, especially due to how young he is. Due to how fearful Cocoa is, and how clearly in need of a loving home he is, Rocky has offered to pay for both his neuter and his adoption fee when he finds a forever home. Cocoa (and Wednesday) are both available for adoption at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA.
