Cinder, nicknamed by the shelter, is an estimated 8-year-old female Tibetan Terrier that has had a tough life. She was discovered by a good samaritan when she walked up to a house, likely seeking help due to the condition she is in. Emaciated and hungry, they took her in to feed her a meal before taking her to the shelter. She is currently in isolation at the shelter and not available for adoption because she needs medical care, and likely a rescue would need to pull her as she needs a thorough veterinary check up done as she is not only emaciated, but it is highly likely she has other concerning health issues. Rocky sits with her in order to bring her comfort and to shed light on her situation, as unfortunately it’s not just Cinder that came into the shelter in such a condition in the same timeframe.

Animal Control is currently investigating the surrounding areas where Cinder and other Tibetan Terriers have been found in similar horrific conditions, and ACO even put a plea out to the public to help get to the bottom of where the dogs may be coming from, as this is suspected to be due to a breeding stock where they are being kept confined to kennels and dumped.

If you have any information regarding Tibetan Terriers being bred in the Riverside County/San Bernardino County area, please reach out below. We ask that you please do not reach out to ask about adopting Cinder at this time.

Animal Friends of the Valleys Animal Control: “If you have any information that might help animal control, please call 951-674-0618 x222 or x223”

San Bernardino County Animal Services: “If you have any information, please email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Tibetan Terriers” or call us at 909-384-1304″

Cinder is a little timid, but incredibly sweet. She rests her head on Rocky’s lap and enjoys cuddle time. She even does incredibly well for her groom, and is overall well mannered and polite. It is highly recommended a rescue pull her once she is off her isolation period, and she is not adoption available due to her medical issues and unknowns on what else could be going on internally without an official veterinary consultation at this time. More updates on this girl and the investigation to come as the story unfolds!
