UPDATE 12/27/23 – Casper was officially ADOPTED! He will be with a new family in time for the New Year. Congratulations, Casper!

UPDATE 12/20/23: Casper is currently recovering from kennel cough, but will be available soon again for meet and greets with other dogs from potential adopters. He currently has multiple holds for adoption in the meantime – thank you all!

Casper is a 1.5-year-old Dogo Argentino male mix that was dumped in the night drop after hours. Fearful, shaking, and clearly shut down with no information left behind, the shelter marked him as stray initially.

Then, two revelations were revealed – one, Casper had been adopted from the shelter almost a year ago to the exact day Rocky visited with him, and two, the owner had just emailed the shelter that morning to say they ‘don’t want him anymore, we put him in night drop, and don’t call us back.’ With his demeanor, Rocky decides to sit with him to hopefully show him the light again despite what he’d been through.

Casper is now available for adoption at Animal Friends of the Valleys. His ID is #668036. ***Please note that the shelter is unable to transport animals or complete out of state adoptions. Interested parties must visit the shelter in person to meet with the dog first.***
