📍 Elvis is currently at a local humane society, waiting for a quiet foster or forever home.
Elvis is a 4–5-year-old mixed breed dog who was surrendered to the shelter in late February, along with another dog who has since been adopted. When Elvis first arrived, he was so terrified he couldn’t walk. Severely dehydrated, he required IV fluids and two days of intensive veterinary care. The vet believes Elvis spent most—if not all—of his life confined to a cage, which left his back legs turned inward and wounds on his head, likely from rubbing against metal bars.
Since arriving, Elvis has made remarkable progress, thanks to the patience and kindness of shelter staff. He’s still very shy, but he’s begun to follow kennel techs around, show interest in nearby puppies, and cautiously seek gentle companionship. He’s been kept in a quiet isolation room because the general shelter noise overwhelms him, and it’s in this quiet space that he’s finally started to emerge from his shell.
Now Elvis needs a calm, dog-free (or low-energy) home where he can continue healing and—maybe for the first time in his life—learn what it means to just be a dog. If you or someone you know can foster or adopt Elvis, please reach out. He deserves a safe, quiet place where love and patience will help him write his next chapter. 💛🐾
📩 Please inquire with the local humane society for more details or share Elvis’s story to help us find him the peace he’s never known.
