Brooklyn is 7 years old and has been in our shelter for 5 of them. Prior to that, she lived on a chain in a back yard. After her owner was arrested, she was left with no care, but she managed to break the chain. An animal control officer brought her to our shelter.

This black and white elegant beauty does not deserve to spend the remainder of her life in one of our kennels. In spite of everything, she has not lost her innate love of humans. While Brooklyn is small in size at about 35 pounds, she has a big heart. She loves all people, big and small. She is warm and tender and enjoys a good cuddle while keeping you company on the couch.

At 7, she has lost all her exuberant puppy energy but still enjoys going for walks and exploring new surroundings. Her potential furever family would enjoy them too as she is already leash trained. Brooklyn enthusiastically plays in the yard. A perfect day would be waking up with you, taking a ride to the park for a long walk, and ending it with a nap on the couch or in front of a window in the sun.

Brooklyn is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, and spayed. She is house trained. She is accustomed to a fenced yard, but quick to learn commands such as recall training. Due to her long time in the shelter, she can be reactive to strange dogs, and would be happiest as an only animal. She could be in a home with older children, but prefers to dine alone and needs her space when eating. She is looking for her understanding person or persons to whom she will be forever grateful and loyal.
