Brie is a 1 and a half year old female Maltese mix, and when Rocky found her, it was already her third day at the shelter and she was still in the corner, trying to avoid the public’s eye and on top of that – not eating. Without any collar, microchip, or leash to be found, unfortunately no owner is known nor can be contacted. According to the finder, she was found right in the middle of a busy road near the shelter, before a Stater Bros shopping center. It is a very dangerous area as it’s busy, and with multiple lanes going each direction, it’s a miracle she was not injured by a car, especially on the weekend. She was health checked, and apparently her ears show evidence of a previous hematoma/yeast infection, and they overall highly recommended her for grooming; this can possibly point to neglect.
After the team brainstormed on different names that could be related to food staples at the grocery store (Stater Bros), the name Brie stuck, after the cheese. Brie has now been groomed by the shelter groomer Mel, and she is looking (and feeling) like a brand new dog! Now she just needs a patient family to come her way. Brie is at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA. Her ID is #749052. ***Please note that Animal Friends of the Valleys is unable to transport animals. Adoptions are first come, first serve.
