Blaze is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd/Dobie mix with soulful brown eyes and a heart that’s just waiting to trust again. Surrendered to the shelter on 11/3/25, this handsome boy arrived shy, confused, and unsure why his world had suddenly fallen apart. When something scares him, he gently lowers himself to the ground and looks up with those worried eyes — the kind that make you want to kneel beside him and promise him everything will be okay.
But even in the shelter environment, Blaze is already showing his brave, hopeful side. He’s walking beautifully with volunteers, warming up to staff, and beginning to show his sweet, excited personality. Though it’s possible he had a past injury to his right hip or leg, he moves comfortably and participates happily in the shelter’s dog-walking program. Blaze seems to know “sit” and “lay down,” appears housebroken, and he absolutely lights up when he feels safe. With love, patience, and stability, this boy is going to blossom.
Why He’s the Ultimate Gentle Soul 🐾❤️
- 🐾 Shy but deeply loving — once he trusts you, he melts into affection
- 🐾 Sweet and sensitive — bonds strongly with his people
- 🐾 Smart and eager to learn — may already know basic commands
- 🐾 Great size — easy to take on adventures and road trips
- 🐾 Housebroken tendencies — keeps a tidy kennel
- 🐾 Opening up more every day — volunteers say he’s showing his happy side more and more
What He’s Looking For 🏡
✔️ A calm, patient family willing to help him continue building confidence
✔️ Someone who sees past his shy exterior to the loving dog underneath
✔️ A home where he can shine and never feel abandoned again
✔️ People who want a loyal co-pilot for life
Blaze is the kind of dog who’ll repay kindness with devotion. He just needs the right person to show him he’s finally safe. Once he’s home, this boy will absolutely glow.
