Bitty was pulled from a shelter due to her dwindling physical and mental state. She had bloody sores all over her body and was missing hair on her back and hind end, likely due to abuse and neglect before being brought to the shelter. After our rescue pulled her, she was diagnosed with pneumonia and spent many nights in the hospital receiving around-the-clock emergency care.
Once her pneumonia was on the mend, she was discharged and put in a foster home to begin her long road to recovery. However, Bitty was still struggling and was obviously battling something that we could not see. After months of testing, we discovered that she has hyperthyroidism. This disease causes her skin issues and weight gain. With proper care and a loving home, we believe Bitty can be stabilized. She just needs a hero.
