Bilbo is a 7-year-old Cane Corso who came to Creekside Rescue from a county shelter after being confiscated for neglect. He was heartworm positive, had entropian (eyelashes roll into eyes), and was malnourished.
The county shelter does not have the ability to work through complicated medical cases, so the animals are listed for rescue pull. Creekside Rescue pulled him to provide him the medical care he needed and place him in a forever home. He received the needed heartworm treatment which is a 3-month process and afterwards was able to go under anesthesia for the surgery to repair the entropian condition.
During that time, he received the TLC and groceries to get him back to a healthy weight for his size. He was adopted for a period of time but had to be returned due to unforeseen circumstances that were no fault of his own.
