Meet Balto. this sweet older dog was at risk of being euthanized at over crowded shelter. Balto is such a cool guy! He is a panda shepherd with the most amazing colors and patterns. He also has soulful eyes and is obviously quite photogenic.
Not only Balto is pretty rare looking and stunning, but also he is so friendly and sweet! He is around 7 years old and a large breed dog so his joints are a little rusty. The shelter just started him on some joint supplements and will need them moving forward to help him out. But don’t worry, this doesn’t stop him one bit.
Balto is playful and his favorite game to play it fetch. He will play fetch and chase a ball for hours if you’d let him. Balto is extremely intelligent, dapper, friendly and happy. He can be selective with other dogs but may also just be settling in to his new environment. He is food motivated, knows some commands, and listens pretty well. He is incredibly strong though and does pull on the leash so he will need a strong handler.
Balto is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested, and kept on prevention here with us. His blood work indicated that he did test positive for Lyme, a tick born illness. He is currently being treated through the shelter. Balto is looking for a loving forever home to relax in and spend his golden retirement years.
