Both Archer and Matteo have been at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility for a week when Rocky comes across them. They are two males – Archer is around 1 year old while Matteo is around 3 years old. The pups came from the home of a good samaritan, known in the area for wanting to help stray dogs. It’s very possible the dogs came across the border as strays, considering the location where the dogs were found. People in the community would bring this good samaritan pups that they found for help. However, it got to a point where it became unmanageable, and the good samaritan tried to rehome as many as they could, but couldn’t for all as the amount of small dogs rose up to around 25 total.
The shelter has been trying to help her re-home, working with another rescue as well, taking them off her hands a couple at a time as they all work together to get them properly vetted, sterilized and re-homed. All the pups have different personalities, however the others have come around quicker than Archer and Matteo, as they are deemed the toughest to come out of their shells. Nicknamed by Rocky, he set out to help show the world how the pups just need a little love and time, and would be amazing dogs for lucky families.
