Amazing April is a gorgeous 70 pound 5 year-old pitbull mix. According to her foster mom, April is an excellent cuddle-bug whose love language is giving kisses…lots and lots of slobbery kisses! And did we mention this smart girl has a thing for carrying a favorite toy in her mouth on walks? How adorable is that?
At home, April likes to be included in whatever’s going on. However, she will gladly retire to her crate for quiet time or when her people need to be out of the house. Her foster says April does fine if left at home in her crate for a few hours. Car rides are always a welcome treat for April and she’s a great dog to bring along to visit friends or explore new places. She walks nicely on leash and does well around other polite dogs.
April’s been working on her reactivity towards dogs that bark at her and has made a lot of progress so far — she just needs some help redirecting her attention and keeping a safe distance. Like many dogs of her breed, April has a sensitive stomach and skin. April came to us with bad ear and skin infections, so she’ll need ongoing vet care to help manage that.
A special diet keeps April happy and healthy. April would do best being the only pet in a dog-savvy home where she can continue her training and get lots of opportunities for enrichment and play, and receive all the love she deserves.
