Trevor’s journey hasn’t been an easy one for such a tiny dog. At not even 2 years old, this 5-pound Yorkshire Terrier came into SAY Rescue due to medical issues his previous owners could no longer manage or afford. Since then, he’s undergone extensive testing, dietary changes, and close monitoring—and through it all, he’s proven to be a resilient little firecracker with an unmistakable will to thrive.

Now, after stabilizing and preparing for upcoming procedures, Trevor is on track to finally step into the life he deserves: a safe, structured, loving home.

Why Trevor Feels So Special

🐾 Yorkshire Terrier, 1 year 11 months old
⚖️ Tiny 5-pound frame
💛 Loves people, friendly dogs, and respectful children (10+)
🏥 Overcame early health concerns and is currently stable
🧠 Smart, trainable, and already knows several commands
🏃‍♂️ Walks over 2 miles daily despite his size

Personality: Small Dog, Big Personality

Trevor is exactly what people mean when they say “don’t let the size fool you.” He’s energetic, stubborn in a funny way, and full of life. He already knows sit, stay, and speak, and he’s working on leash skills—but he’s very much a young dog still learning structure.

He’s active and engaged during the day, enjoying long walks, toy play, and time with other dogs. At home, he shifts into a completely different mode—curling up in laps, drifting into little puppy dreams, and gently “kicking” as if replaying his day.

He does best when he has company and stimulation. Left alone too long without engagement, he may channel his energy into chewing paper or looking for something to do—but not out of destruction, just boredom.

What Trevor Is Looking For

✔️ A home with a fenced yard for safe play
✔️ Daily walks and consistent exercise
✔️ A family willing to continue basic training classes
✔️ A dog companion or active human household for stimulation
✔️ Plenty of lap time, affection, and companionship

Heart of Trevor

Trevor is the definition of “small but mighty.” He’s a dog who has already faced more medical complexity than most puppies ever will—but he’s come through it with energy, charm, and an unwavering love for people and life.

What he needs now isn’t just a home. It’s a teammate, a routine, and a lap that will always be there when the adventure of the day is done.
