Abandoned on a Random Street, Bully Dog Finds True Love Somewhere Unexpected
It’s a reality that crushes us anytime we think about it: some dogs may love their families so deeply and still end up betrayed by the very same humans they gave their whole hearts to.
This pretty much summarizes the life story of Wonder Woman, a Bully breed who, not so long ago, was left tied up along a street sidewalk by someone she considered family. While it’s not clear how long she had been there, it was obvious that Wonder Woman had been abandoned intentionally. No note was left behind, and there wasn’t a single food or water bowl in sight. Wonder Woman, as sweet as she is, was tossed away like her life didn’t matter. Luckily, the NYPD came to her aid after being alerted about her, and they swiftly transported her to Queens Animal Care Center (ACC).
The Struggle to Adjust
While at the shelter, it didn’t take long for staff members to notice how heartbroken Wonder Woman was. Her heartbreak wasn’t the loud, dramatic kind. It was silent, which made it even harder for those around her to witness.
Wonder Woman spent her days frozen in shock in her kennel, all while avoiding eye contact with anyone who came to check up on her. She always kept to herself, but the sorrow on her face couldn’t go unnoticed. Wonder Woman was struggling to accept her new reality, and understandably so.

Though Wonder Woman was emotionally shut down, her brokenness did not, at any point, put off the shelter’s staff members. In fact, one staff member in particular, Jaylen, felt drawn to Wonder Woman; there was just something about her that Jaylen couldn’t shake off.
Each time Jaylen looked at Wonder Woman, she didn’t see a “difficult” dog. What she saw was a dog who’d been let down in the worst way possible and had no strength getting back up on her own. Realizing this, Jaylen took it upon herself to kickstart Wonder Woman’s healing journey.
A Bond Like No Other
Jaylen would spend time with Wonder Woman every single day. She was patient and understanding enough to know that this sweet pup wasn’t going to come around immediately. Jaylen allowed Wonder Woman to open up at her own pace; she did not put any pressure on her at any given point
Amazingly, every moment they spent together made Wonder Woman soften up a little more on the inside. Then slowly by slowly, she began to feel safe around Jaylen. Wonder Woman started to come out of her shell, and as this was unfolding, Jaylen had already made a life-changing decision: to take Wonder Woman home, for good.
Jaylen didn’t need any convincing that Wonder Woman needed a second chance. She signed the adoption papers without thinking twice, giving this sweet pup the happy ending she never imagined would find her.
Wonder Woman Living Her Best Life
Now renamed Bahama Mama, Wonder Woman’s life has taken a beautiful turn. Her spark — which was almost dimmed completely by heartbreak — is back in full blast, and she’s the happiest she’s ever been.
Wonder Woman’s heart is overflowing with pure joy, all thanks to Jaylen. She’s ever rocking an ear-to-ear smile, dishing out affection like it’s her sole purpose in life, and sniffing every leaf she comes across during walks. This bubbly sweetheart of a girl wakes up each day with one agenda in mind: to make every moment of her second chance count.
