Like almost every other dog owner, you probably have a list of the things that scare your dog to death. Thunder? Check. Fireworks? Check. Vacuum cleaner? Check again. Most of us have watched our furry companions run for dear life as soon as they spot the V-monster, as harmless as it is. (watch the video below)
Well, a recent TikTok clip has just proven that not all dogs suffer from the vacuum cleaner phobia. One lovely Golden Retriever has found fame online after a video captured them in a rather unbothered state as a robot vacuum did its thing next to him. We have a feeling this unfazed pup will be the highlight of your day.
Absolutely Nothing Will Ruin My Nap
The funny video posted a few days ago by TikTok account @brandon_at_faulkner shows the Golden Retriever enjoying his sweet nap on a rag next to a window. Then, a robot vacuum cleaner is seen navigating back and forth on the rag before moving to where the dog is. At one point, the vacuum hits the sleeping furry beauty, but this doesn’t startle him. In fact, he’s seen pushing the vacuum away with his legs without even bothering to check what it is that’s trying to interrupt his nap time.

So far, the now-viral clip has amassed a whooping 2.3 million views and over 162K likes. As expected, more and more TikTok users are flooding the comment section with hilarious reactions.
“I wanna be this unbothered all the time,” read one comment.
A second person wrote: “My dog is in fight or flight mode the second the roomba turns on.”
Another added: “Those puppy naps are no joke!”
Why Do Most Dogs Fear Vacuum Cleaners?
According to the American Kennel Club, most dogs find the loud noise emitted by vacuums to be quite scary and intimidating. Our canine friends have a much superior sense of hearing than us, and so a vacuum’s blaring noise may be too high-pitched and overwhelming for them.
Desensitizing your dog to the sound and sight of the dreaded vacuum cleaner can go a long way in helping them overcome their fear of this popular household appliance.
