This Senior Dog Gives the Best Snuggles, Only Thing She’s Lacking Is a Forever Person
People always talk about “everything happens for a reason.” While there’s some truth to this cliché phrase, there’s absolutely no reason that can justify the neglect of dogs. It’s often devastating to hear of dogs put through neglectful circumstances by their humans, given the fact that our four-legged friends are the only creatures who adore us wholeheartedly without holding any love back.
Boo — a 10-year-old female Pit Bull Mix currently at the Silicon Valley Pet Project (SVPP) — has had her fair share of neglect, possibly from humans she thought would have her best interests at heart forever.
This 40-pound bundle of gray-muzzled cuteness was brought to SVPP bearing obvious signs of neglect. Although Boo couldn’t voice her experience as a victim of neglect, the pitiful state of her fur and the extent of her skin issues did give staff at the shelter a glimpse of her unpleasant past. Thankfully, her arrival at the SVPP would mark the end of her misery and the start of better days.
Journey to Restoring Boo’s Skin Health
SVPP believes Boo may have suffered neglect for a prolonged period because of the skin infections she’s battling. At the moment, the shelter’s veterinarian team is doing everything they can to address all her skin problems, including putting her on allergy medication.
Although she’s made remarkable progress as far as her skin health is concerned, she’s yet to attain full recovery. Despite these health setbacks, Boo displays a rare kind of zest for life, making the most out of her second chance at life even as she continues to receive treatment.
She’s had the privilege of being warmly accepted into different foster homes, and is now eager to proceed to her next chapter of life: being in a loving foster-to-adopt home.
Boo’s In Need of a Foster-to-Adopt Living Arrangement
Boo’s previous fosters have nothing but good things to say about her, and it’s easy to see why the shelter considers her an ideal four-legged companion just waiting to be matched with her potentially forever person. Sweet Boo gives the best snuggles, is fully house-trained and crate-trained, has excellent leash manners, possesses an eagerness to please her humans, and will give anything to go on car rides with you.
She’s a social butterfly who loves meeting new people, and her prowess in using the doggy door will make you adore her even more. Another favorite pastime close to Boo’s heart — besides overwhelming you with snuggles — is keeping herself busy with fun toys.
She’s best suited for an adults-only home where she’s the only furry family member. Best believe, this senior pup will worm her way into your heart in no time and spend the rest of her golden years loving on you like their existence depends on it.
