This Mama Dog Was Dumped at a Gas Station After Giving Birth—URGENT PLEA to Save her

Birdie, a 4-year-old micro terrier mix, was discovered lactating and tied up at a local gas station, sparking an urgent search for a compassionate forever home. Shelter officials believe the dog may have been discarded after being used for breeding, leaving her without her puppies and in desperate need of care.

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter reports that Birdie, currently in foster care, requires an immediate permanent placement. Staff emphasize the dog’s sweet temperament and her struggle with shelter environments, making a quick adoption critical to her well-being.

Sweet Dog Hoping For A Better Future

The shelter waited for a while for someone to come and claim Birdie but to no avail. Additionally, no puppies have come to the shelter recently. Due to all this, the shelter staff believes that the poor dog was used to produce puppies for financial gains, and after her litter was born, she was discarded like trash.

Birdie is an incredibly sweet and loving dog, and it would break anyone’s heart to see her in this situation. She loves humans a lot and meeting every person brings her immense happiness as she likes to lean into them. Even after going through so much, she still craves human affection.

Can You Give Birdie A Loving Home?

The Terrier mix is currently living with a foster family. However, the family can’t keep her any longer, and soon she will be without a home and a family. She will be returning to the shelter, but she struggles with the shelter environment, which could take a toll on her mental and emotional well-being.

Therefore, the shelter hopes for Birdie to find a family who will open their home to this wonderful dog, either to adopt or foster her. The dog will fare best in homes with children aged 10 and above.

So, consider giving this mother dog another chance at love and happiness by meeting her and potentially taking her home. It’s hard not to fall in love with this dog when you get to meet her. Who knows you might find a best friend in Birdie!
