These Shelter Dogs Made New Year’s Resolutions—Now They Need You to Help Make Them Come True!
As soon as the new year rolled around, some dogs at the Arizona Humane Society got busy…….erm, busy putting their New Year’s resolutions list in order. The five dogs — Glinda, Nilla, Mac, Duke, and Champ — moved into 2025 pretty motivated, and we can’t help but giggle at their goals, captured hilariously in a TikTok video.
Glinda — whose resolution is as honest as it could get: to take more naps — now has a warm, comfy bed, which means her nap sessions will be on fire! Duke’s goal this year is to smile more, and we’re happy to report he’s found a loving home that wholeheartedly fell in love with his crooked smile. Champ, on the other hand, is intentional about doing nothing this year other than chill. Thankfully, he now has a family to call his own; people he can chill with as much as he likes.

Nilla and Mac are still at the shelter, and they need your help to follow through with their New Year’s goals. And by help, we mean offering them a loving home where they can actively work toward their resolutions because the shelter environment just doesn’t cut it.
Get to know more about Nilla and Mac below along with their New Year resolutions:
1. Nilla: Find a new hobby
Meet Nilla, a 13-week-old Australian Cattle Dog with energy for days! Nilla’s go-to-pastime while at the shelter is to rip up her blanket, but she wants to do a lot more than that. Well, it’s a good thing that Nilla is an active pup at heart, meaning she’s ever-ready to hit the outdoors.
Sweet Nilla is an absolute love bug who’ll snuggle you with all the 13 pounds of her. Her ideal home is simple: an active family that can keep up with her high energy. To adopt Nilla, learn more here.
2. Mac: Get adopted before his first birthday (on Jan 13)
Looking for a handsome fella (you won’t get enough of his floppy ears) with a soft spot for adventure?
Look no further than Mac, an 11-month-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who likes to be part of exciting activities. While he enjoys playtime and going on fun adventures, Mac won’t mind spending quality time with you on the couch, provided he’s guaranteed unlimited belly rubs. To adopt Mac, learn more here.
