1. Duke: 2-year-old Gentle Husky

Duke Atreidis is a handsome 2-year-old Husky with a soft, expressive face and a heart that’s still learning how to trust again. Originally adopted from Animal Friends of the Valleys as a young pup, Duke was recently returned by his previous owner on April 18, 2025. Now, he’s finding himself back in the shelter, scared and unsure of the world around him.
His former owner shared helpful notes: Duke is good with children, slept indoors, enjoys car rides, and is leash-trained. He’s housebroken, does well during grooming, and responds to treats—but he’s also prone to chewing and digging if left unsupervised. While his experience with other dogs and obedience training is partially known, AFV staff can provide more insight to interested adopters. Learn More
2. Meribella: Friendly Doodle

Meribella is a sweet, affectionate girl with a zest for life and a heart big enough to love a whole family. Though she’s large, she’s gentle and thrives with active, kind humans—especially kids! She adores water, car rides, and outdoor adventures like hikes and lake days.
She loves people and believes everyone she meets is a friend. She’s playful, loving, and adores children, including those with special needs. Though Meribella once lived with another large female dog in a tight space (which led to conflict), she’s done well meeting other dogs on leash. She would thrive as an only dog or with a savvy owner who can guide socialization. Learn More
3. Hustle: Smart Lovebug

Meet Hustle—a 55-pound lovebug with a heart as big as his snuggles. This gentle mixed-breed pup was surrendered by his previous family and is now searching for a forever home that will shower him with the love and attention he adores.
Hustle is a pro at all things cozy—couch cuddling, belly rubs, and curling up at your feet. But don’t be fooled—this cuddle champion has plenty of pep in his step for walks, tug-of-war, and playtime with his favorite heavy-duty toys. Learn More
4. Polar: 5-year-old Sweet Husky-Pomeranian Mix

Polar is a darling 75% Pomeranian and 25% Husky mix who was deeply loved by his previous owner. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond his control, he is now looking for a new forever family who will cherish him just as much.
At around 9 pounds, Polar is house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows his basic commands. True to his name, he has a bright and sweet personality that’s sure to warm your heart. As he adjusts to his new surroundings, Polar is showing glimpses of his affectionate, loyal spirit—and he’s ready to share it with the right family. Learn More
5. Kermit: Senior Cuddle Lover

Kermit is a gentle, wise soul with a long, beautiful coat and a heart full of love. With his soulful eyes and calm demeanor, he’s the kind of companion who just wants to be by your side—whether you’re relaxing on the couch or quietly tidying up the house. Though his senior status comes with a few medical quirks (including daily meds for a torn cruciate ligament), his affectionate spirit and laid-back energy more than make up for it.
Kermit would thrive in a peaceful home with someone patient, gentle, and ready to give him the care and love he deserves. A soft bed, some daily belly rubs, and understanding hearts are all he asks. Learn More
6. Tok: Little Shepherd-Husky Mix Pupper

Tok is a recent arrival to rescue and is just beginning to settle into his foster home. His foster family is still getting to know him, and more updates will be shared soon as his personality continues to shine through.
Tok came to Ruff Start Rescue through a local owner surrender. While his past may be a bit uncertain, his future is full of hope—and possibly, you. Learn More
7. Poppy: Playful & Snuggly Puppy

Poppy is a young, active, very small dog. Her breed is known for very delicate legs and feet. We are looking for a very specific home for Poppy. First, she must have another small dog in the home that is willing to let her play and sleep snuggled with her. Second, no children under 10. Poppy is simply too delicate. Third, you must be home more than you are away. It can be work from home, homeschool, active retirees, etc. But no more than 2-3 hours at a time. And finally, you must be willing to let Poppy cuddle on the furniture and, when she is bigger and it is safe, sleep in the bed. These are all non-negotiable. Poppy is great with dogs of all sizes (she lives with dogs ranging from 3 lbs to 70 lbs) and cats.
What is my personality like? Can you say ears!! Sweet Poppy is 50 pounds of personality packed into 4 pounds of chocolate smooth coat perfection. She loves to play, snuggle, and eat. Poppy is all puppy. She plays hard and then crashes hard. And when she crashes, she wants another body to snuggle with and wrap her paws around. If you’re human, she’ll be snuggled against your neck. If you’re canine, she quite literally wraps her arms around another dog to sleep. Learn More
8. Daisy: 6-year-old Shepherd-Husky Mix

Meet Daisy! Daisy is a husky/shepherd mix. She was surrendered back to Husky House by her previous owners who adopted her as a puppy. Daisy took some time to adjust back to being in the kennel and it is clear that she misses being in a home. She is a sweet and affectionate pup outside of the kennel but can be nervous in her room.
Daisy is also nervous around fast-moving cars and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard or in a very quiet neighborhood. She is excellent on leash on outings to low traffic areas (such as the woods or the beach) and enjoys car rides. Daisy can also get upset when people don’t respect her boundaries/personal space and therefore would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Daisy is a smart dog and knows sit, stay, and is pretty good at catching treats out of the air! Interested in adopting Daisy? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.
