This Loving German Shepherd Stole Hearts—So Why Hasn’t She Been Adopted?
Many shelter dogs spend their days yearning for the attention of visitors, hoping that one will see beyond their circumstances and offer a permanent home. Though each dog differs in appearance and temperament, they all share the capacity to become loyal, loving companions—if only given the chance.
Chloe, a 2-year-old German Shepherd, arrived at All Shepherd Rescue on June 9, 2024, and immediately stood out. Her upright ears, copper-colored eyes, and striking black-and-tan coat, with fawn-colored legs, make her visually striking. However, it is her temperament that truly distinguishes her. Described by shelter staff as affectionate and gentle, Chloe has quickly become a favorite. Yet, despite her endearing qualities, she remains without an adopter, waiting for the right person to offer her the home she so clearly deserves.
From Overcrowded Shelter to ASR
Before coming to All Shepherd Rescue, 65-pound Chloe was a resident at an overcrowded shelter, where she had been brought in as a stray. Given that the shelter was already running at full capacity, most of these dogs — Chloe included — were facing the risk of euthanasia.
Lucky for Chloe, All Shepherd Rescue learned of her winning personality and quickly intervened by taking her in. Chloe hasn’t been at the rescue for a long time, but for the short period she’s been there, she’s warmed her way into the hearts of everyone around her. In fact, the rescue’s adoption coordinator, Candice Bagrosky, says they don’t understand why Chloe hasn’t found a permanent home yet. She’s too ‘perfect’ to be stuck in her kennel all day, yet she has much love and good vibes to share.
Could You Be Chloe’s Forever Person?
If your idea of the perfect canine companion includes a house-trained, loving pup who’s a social butterfly and gets along with everyone, kids and other pets included, then you’re describing Chloe.
This playful, people-oriented bundle of fluff wants nothing more than to love on her humans and make cherished memories with them. Although she’s a certified affection giver, she enjoys being petted and will unapologetically put her head on your lap for those neck and head scratches.
Not to mention, Chloe is leash-trained and has mastered basic obedience commands. If you’d love to make sweet Chloe a part of your family, please reach out to All Shepherds Rescue for more details about her adoption process.
