Sweet Deja arrived at the Patty Baker Humane Society Naples (PBHSN) back in 2022 after she was transferred from another shelter. When Deja came to PBHSN, staff members and volunteers were pretty sure she’d land a forever home in no time. I mean, who wouldn’t want to take home a dog who’s perfect in every way? Sadly, Deja is still a shelter resident, a reality that breaks those who know her awesome she is. A dog like Deja deserves more than a concrete floor and four cold walls. Yet, her closest companions for the past (almost) four years have been solitude and loneliness.

Watching potential adopters walk past her kennel without glancing in her direction has become the norm for Deja. For years, Deja had been made to feel as though she isn’t worthy of a forever family.
